I picked up the game pre-owned a few days ago.
Campaign is short with a generic story after a promising start. Like most shooters these days to be fair - there are a few awesome moments though.
Multiplayer is a mixed bag. The laughably unbalanced Galactic assault, where you either crush the opposition with ease or the same is done to your team is based purely on making a good or bad start to the round.
You earn points to unlock upgraded soldiers/heroes so you get the situation where one team is filled with these killing machines and the other team simply being outgunned dies a lot and is unable to get the points to deploy their own to counter them. Therefore in this mode at least in 20 matches, never saw anything but a one sided slaughter, very noticeable when I was on the winning or losing teams what the difference was. I prefer games where it is possible to have nail biting contests that go down to the last few moments.
Starfighter assault on the other hand is so damn fun. Much better flight controls than the previous game. The other modes are standard death match etc but Heroes Vs Villains is always hilarious with friends. None of the other modes feel anything close to unbalanced like the first one I mentioned. There is no character customization of any kind currently if you like that sorta thing beyond the star cards.
Graphics/sound is outstanding, as good as any other game currently out there and the gameplay itself is pretty solid. Is it worth new full price as a package?
Compared to other games out there at the moment, the answer is no until more of the free DLC comes out.
