Insights: Buncey vs Tazaar Featured

PS4 Round 4 Insights

A much harder match up to choose due to how tight the PS4 Div 1 league is.

RFC Buncey vs Tazaar

1: How do you rate your opponent?

B: About the same as everyone else in this division, maybe marginally better than most.
T: Decent player who I have yet to beat, I think should have won the 1st game this season I think but ended up losing.

2: What are your expectations for the game?

B: A very tight match, probably ending in a draw or one goal swing either way. Hopefully, it's more entertaining than that.
T: Probably a draw

3: How is your season going so far?

B: Surprisingly well, didn't think I would be top after the first 3 sets of fixtures. The luck will run out eventually so may as well enjoy it.
T: Better than expected but about to get worse as I've just lost my best player to AWOL

4: Who are your key players?

B: Kepa Arrizabalaga, my keeper, is easily the most important player, keeping me in games I would otherwise lose. Quagliarella provides the firepower at the other end of the pitch to good effect.
T: Bernard the speed dribbly mink and Tufan has looked good since I signed him but hasn't played yet.

5: Who is the best player you have got in for this season and is there one you wouldn’t want to let leave?

B: Carcela-Gonzalez is the best player I've brought in so far this season, offers me something different out wide. Everyone is available for the right price, but for reasons stated above Kepa would be hard to let go.
T: It was Arroyo but he went Awol so would have to say Tufan - very well rounded cm

6: Wow, the top 8 teams in Div One are all within 4 points of each other. It's literally anyone's (apart from ToniiFIFA's) Any insider knowledge to who will be champ?

B: The title should be Geaser's to lose, he is the best player in this division for me. Outside of that, I think everyone can beat everyone and it'll go down to who has the best run of luck in the season.
T: Seriously could be anyone, it's very even but I think PALSfocus may take it away.

Wage Day Cometh Featured

Wage Day Cometh

On the 26th July its Wage Day again on FLM. As you all know the wages structure has changed with the introduction of premium players as opposed to the multipliers. With so many auctions coming thick and fast recently, means a whole load of new players in the market as well as their premium prices to take into account. Take a look on settings tab on the spreadsheet to see how this will affect you. I recently won Quintero in an auction and in doing so, will get that lovely 20% to my wages!

Looking at the season overview now there are some great differences in wages between teams. The highest wage bill is Doob with 23 million and the lowest is StarkEFC with 2 million! 2 MILLION. HOW?!

There was a topic posted recently by Tommo-UK which sparked a discussion and in turn, surprise surprise resulted in several new transfer threads going up. We always see a stalemate of sorts in the market. Either when there is not enough money floating about or when there is too much! This doesn’t stop most people as they can adapt and carry out their dealings with swaps as well as cash deals. However, some other people prefer dealing in cash. After that thread went up the market again sparked into life, with several deals being posted and more activity. The truth is though, the market was fine the way it was. People still do not want to sell purely for cash unless a replacement can be sourced and other people don’t want to give up their star assets.

Enter auctions. Fresh players for us all!

So many auctions, some planned, others a total surprise! Bargains were had as well as big money signings. However, this has also made star assets become available.

The beauty of FLM. The chase and thrill of the transfer market.

As wage day approaches though, people are forced to sell and buy to afford their wages or make changes to their team before the window slams shut.

Alas Davotek has thrown Two challenges to the league! THE DECIDE AUCTIONS CHALLENGE – which answers most of the league member’s wet dreams to pick their next potential target, well before going head to head with other managers to win that auction and get the players THEY WANT into the league and then THE WAGE CHALLENGE, which ties in nicely into the next part of this article.

Free Wages for Completion of Games – A high price to pay?

The second and probably the most important challenge for some is the Wage Challenge. Similar to the Decide Auctions Challenge, it requires the Entire League set up, that is all 6 divisions, to have played 85% of games played from Fixture Batch 1-4. This will result in no wages for everyone.

You’re probably thinking this is easy. Sometimes its not. On the forum we use Fixture Setup Logs to arrange games. If these are not updated, Grumbo comes to your house with a raging boner and skull f**ks you. Sometimes virtually though. Anyways, there are the usual culprits not updating them or slacking. Fines are one thing but hitting a whole league with the opportunity to have a free wage day will surely motivate most to get some outstanding games played.

There is another side to this though. There are some managers, that believe taking away wage day would mean the rich get richer and the people with lower wages stay the same. Can see that point of view myself. I have a wage bill of approximately 7m, which is nothing compared to some others with 23m wage bills! Yet that 23m or 7m coming out of the market will force other players to sell and balance out the market even more. Obviously both case scenario, the Bank wins.

What’s the outcome? You decide FLMers. It's all going to be tracked through the Percentage Tracker Thread. For both challenges this will go to the wire.

Who wins? You decide.

Insights: Ninja vs Joe Featured

Written by

Game of the Week - Xbox Edition

This week featuring Ninjabean & Joe

1: How do you rate your opponent?

N: Joe has always been a tough opponent for myself. Very good player across the board. You look at his team on paper and you think he has a threadbare team with just a couple of decent players, but the other players are actually great for their rating. His defence is ageing but his attack is lethal, the Origi and Austin combo just works.

J:  I think Ninja said it better than I could, it's probably classed as a surprise that he's in the title race, but fair play to him. I think I've probably beaten him more than he's beaten me over the years, but our first game this season was very tough, I did get a lot of luck but got over the line and I'd take that again second time around

2: What are your expectations for the game?

N: If I can keep my unbeaten record going I'll be happy. The first game finished 4-2 to Joe, but in all honesty the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested. I've since added to my team, especially at the back with the arrival of a Fabianski, who can actually catch a ball and Diego Reyes to partner the beast that is Issa Diop, so I'm hoping that those additions will keep Austin and Origi quiet. If not I just hope my new attack will help me, a front 3 of Poulsen, Martinez and Montero, should cause some worry for Joe's ageing defenders.

J: I've been playing very well lately, I had a 9 game streak going which was broken by Tiernobyl who I just can't beat, but my confidence is still high so I'll be hoping for a win. One way I can't see it going is a draw, I've had none so far from 13 games and the way I play tends to see me either score plenty of concede plenty

3: How is your season going so far?

N: A lot better than expected, I'm unbeaten in 9 games and only lost 1 this season (which was to Joe). I just need to turn a few of the draws into wins to pull clear of the pack. Everyone expected me to be battling relegation, including myself, so to be where I am right now i'm buzzing.

J: I had an awful start, lost my first 4 some of which I really should have won, and then went on a run of 9 wins which got me to the top of the table, some of which I probably should have lost really

4: Who are your key players?

N: Poulsen, Ki and Diop. Poulsen is so underrated, I paid a lot for his services as I knew what damage he could cause and a lot of people are aware of that due to the copious amounts of PM's I get regarding him. Ki is just outstanding in the middle of the park as well, pings the ball around for fun and pops up to score every now and then too. Diop is just phenomenal too at CB, big, strong and fast, without him I could easily say that I would be down the bottom end of the table.

J: Charlie Austin obviously, he gets a lot of stick and has had zero interest when I've put him up for sale, but he's absolutely brilliant in the game, good in the air, strong and has a powerful shot on him, he's the leagues top scorer as it stands. Further back my 2 pre season signings in Berezutskiy and Gonul have tightened things up for me after conceding so many last season, both bring a bit of class to what was a poor back 4

5: Are either of you hopeful of taking the Championship from GoldenBread?

N: There are some great players battling it out at the top, it's certainly been a more competitive than in recent years. If I do manage to take  the title, great, if not I won't be too disheartened.

J: Not particularly, it is so close this year that whoever wins it is going to need to go on a consistent run of wins at the right time and I don't think I'm good enough to do that over the rest of the season

6: Who is the best player you have got in for this season and is there one you wouldn’t want to let leave?

N: As mentioned above, it would be a tossup between Poulsen and Diop. One is a danger going forward and one is a beast at the back. it will take something special for me to let either of these go.

J: Best signing was Berezutskiy. He's old and not really worth anything now, but as a pure CB he's brilliant at being in the right place at the right time and winning the ball which was exactly what I needed. Unsurprisingly the players I wouldn't let go are my Liverpool players, I enjoy Mo's seethe too much

Thanks again lads for a good, in depth interview. Good Luck.
