Independente Medellin played host to fallen giants Nottingham Forrest at the Atanasio Girardot with fans left feeling a little deflated at the manner of the draw.

The visitors started the brighter early doors, Eder wasting an excellent chance in front of goal, scuffing the 12th minute wide. With the match lacking in any form of fluidity for either side, Medellin plundered their way to their first real opportunity on 36 minutes, Zambrano heading over from a Pirlo corner.

On the 38th minute the game got the goal it had been crying out for, Ginter poor in fending off Bolingoli, with the debutant finding Eder in the box who made no mistake with the volley.

2nd half and Medellin began to look more threatening, forcing the play down the throat of the visitors. On 49 minutes Paloschi was fed through, whilst his effort was well parried, a calamitous touch from the defender very nearly gifted him another sniff at it, only for the Italian to see the ball go out of play. 10 minutes later and it was another fortunate bounce for Medellin that allowed Pazzini an effort at goal, only for Salin to parry it out for a corner. From the resulting corner it was Paloschi who made the familiar leap above all for the equaliser, Pirlo again the architect

After this it was business as usual as both teams all but cancelled each other out to share the spoils.
