Independiente Medellin played host to former Division 2 rivals Setubal, taking a huge 3 points in the process as they chase a play off spot.

A lively first half from the Colombians saw them spray the ball around with confidence, yet a solid Portuguese defence saw the hosts consigned to shots from distance. Zengin held off their first attack in the 15th, parrying it well from an effort via Jojic. In the 31st it was the turn of Natcho to chance his arm from distance, creating a bit of space to fire one across the keeper but onto the crossbar. In the 37th it was the Russian again who was thwarted, receiving the ball in the box but only managing to strike it straight at the keeper.

Come the 44th, the marauding Natcho finally got his goal, picking it up from Jojic on the counter before nestling it beyond Zengin and into the bottom corner.

With the score 1-0 at HT, Medellin were feeling pretty confident of victory considering their opponents had yet to register a shot on goal. Sadly for them, Setubal had taken their HT rollicking well and came out a new side. In the 49th they made their first significant  attack, Toure outmuscling Douglas to fire it through Tytons legs. The goal rocked the home side who then nearly went behind as Traore pulled away from the defender to receive a pass and did everything right up until the finish with Tyton palming it wide.

With the match becoming a midfield battle, it took until the 82nd minute for the next goal, a well worked move releasing Emenike who defied the fans chants of "s**t pookeynoodle" to stroke home what turned out to be the winner. Not before missing a cut back in the 90th mind, such is the frustration with the man!
