Player statistic

edellin made the trip to 2nd bottom of the table Karabukspor salivating at the prospect of reigniting their promotion campaign. Come the 90th minute, they left beaten and with their dreams of reaching the Premiership left in ruins.

A bright opening from the visitors saw them move the ball around well & relatively comfortable for the opening 10 minutes. Come the 14th minute, a horrendous pass from Tomkins saw Medellin dispossessed on the edge of the area, an equally horrendous attempt at a tackle from Song allowed De Jong the space needed to unleash a lovely opener from distance.

Not to be deterred, Medellin confidently went on the attack, Garcia testing Rafael from range on the 26th before Emenike forced one down the lads throat on the 30th only to see the effort parried. On the 35th it was the marauding Garcia again, fed in by Emenike and forcing Rafael to save well to his left.

2nd half became a more even affair as Karabukspor showed some composure, an effort from distance from Demir was just narrowly wide before Tyton parried well soon after to knock the effort out for a corner. With Medellin all out attack, the equaliser looked nailed on in the 90th as Emenike had it put on a plate only for Rafael to produce the save of the game to palm it out for a corner. With the keeper up for the resulting corner, the set piece was cleared as Melgarejo then ran over half of the pitch unchallenged to tap it into an empty net and score on his debut.

The Premiership is overrated anyway
