This match claimed Burton's second win in a row, and second win v Pals in the league this season. After a shakey start, the Brewers have managed to gain some sort of momentum throughout the middle of the season and picked up some valuable points. Sweet, sweet points. Luke and Pals have met countless times in Div 2 over the years, and the rivalry continued over into D1. Every game between these 2 sides seem to be exciting and packed with action, this game was no different.

The match kicked off at a good pace with both teams not shy of showing they want an early goal. And it was the home side that got it. Piazon was played down the middle,  with some nifty foot work he beat 1 defender and opened himself some space to shoot from outside the box and blasted it into the top right corner. But there wasn't much time for the home side to enjoy their lead, as the Brewers pulled it level on the 23rd min when Shane Long was played in behind the defense. 1 on 1 with the keeper there was only gonna be one winner. Moments later the Brewers got themselves into the lead! Long got the ball and took it down the left and into the box, attempted to play a sideways pass across the box which was blocked and went straight back to him, and a 2nd attempt resulted in a byline cutback that Brady burried low and hard. Rest of the half was evenly contested but no more goals were added.

2nd half kicked off and it only took 3 mins for the lads in yellow in to give them a 2 goal lead. Long made a run in behind the defense which, Potuk provided a delightful pass which Long finished well 1 on 1 with the keeper. Long had the chance to complete his hat trick just after the hour mark when he was once again 1 on 1 but his shot hit the side netting. On the 65th min the home side gave their fans some hope when Sosa turned well to beat his man and shot from distance to beat Rafael. The home side pushed on from here in a attempt to at least go level, but the Burton defense held together well. And Rafael came out with a fine stop on the 85th min to keep the Brewers in the lead. The save almost killing one of the keepers own players . But in the final few minutes of the match who else but Shane Long to come up with the goods to get his hat trick. Burton attacking on the counter, Ze Luis took the ball wide and crossed it deep for Shane Long who took one touch and blasted into the top left. Lovely stuff.

Cheers Pals, always a pleasure mate. All the best for the rest
